Lieutenant Jared Wilson joined the Department in 2004 as a radio dispatcher and entered the 69th Regional Police Academy in 2006. He has served as a patrol officer in Eastern, Central, Western, Mid-City and Southern Divisions. He was promoted to sergeant in 2015 and was assigned as a patrol supervisor at Northern and Mid-City Divisions, as a Crime Suppression Team supervisor and as a supervisor in the Human Resources Unit at Headquarters.

In 2024 Jared was promoted to lieutenant and is currently assigned to the Research Analysis and Planning Unit. Over the years his special assignments have included peer support, field training officer, field evidence technician, Street Crimes Unit and the Gaslamp Bike Team. Jared is a San Diego State University graduate with a degree in public administration. His wife is also a detective with the San Diego Police Department.

Jared was first elected to the Board in 2017 and served as the chair of the Labor Management Committee. He was elected to the SDPOA Executive Board in 2021 as the secretary. He was elected as the president in January 2022 and again in January 2024.

Jared also serves as a vice president of the San Diego/Imperial Chapter of PORAC and the area vice president of the National Association of Police Organizations.

Jared and his family live in Poway. In his time off he is a volunteer Cub Scout leader. He previously served on the City of Poway Budget Review Committee and as a commissioner for the City of San Diego Citizens Advisory Board on Police/Community Relations.

Jeremy Huff came to the San Diego Police Department in 2012 after 10 years of working as a state police officer for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and as a deputy for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department in Tucson, Arizona.

Jeremy started his career in Northwestern Patrol, then Northern Patrol. This is where he utilized his training as a licensed yacht and dive boat captain along with his training in waterborne law enforcement on the Department’s Harbor Unit for three years.

Jeremy moved to Northern’s Quality of Life Team, then Central’s Quality of Life Team, and was a member of the newly founded Neighborhood Policing Division. He was also a part of the Department’s Bravo Team for five years.

In 2021, Jeremy was selected for Traffic Division’s Motor Unit and worked as a motor officer until June 2022. He was promoted to sergeant in June 2022 and currently works in Western Division.

Over the past 25 years, Joe has been assigned to the San Diego Police Department’s Patrol Operations and Traffic Operations as a motorcycle officer and motorcycle sergeant. He was elected to the San Diego Police Officers Association Board of Directors in 2021, and in 2022 he became the treasurer. As a second-generation San Diego police officer, he is personally and professionally vested in the well-being of our membership and our great profession.

Adam Devor moved to San Diego after graduating from California State University Northridge with a Bachelor of Science degree in public health education. He joined the San Diego Police Department in 2014 and was in the 101st Police Academy. After phase training, he was assigned to Central Division. Aside from working Northern Division’s Summer Beach Team in 2019, he has worked exclusively at Central Division.

In the second half of 2020, Adam received the Officer of the Shift Award for Central Division. He was commended for his dedication to patrol duties and his ability to mentor other officers.

In 2022, Adam was elected to the POA Board and was also elected to the POA’s Executive Board as the secretary. His term expires in 2025.

Adam is currently the Member Relations chair and takes an active role with the Communications Committee.

David grew up in Otay Mesa, San Diego, and graduated from Montgomery High School. He earned a degree in business management from Cal State San Marcos and an associate degree in biblical studies from Southern California Seminary. David has been married for over 18 years and has three kids. David enjoys camping and road tripping with the family.

David joined the SDPD in January 2009. He has worked as a patrol officer in Southern, Southeastern and Traffic Divisions. He left Traffic to become a field training officer and later worked as a long-term acting sergeant. In 2020, David transferred to Domestic Violence, where he worked as an acting detective until he was later promoted to detective. In 2021, David promoted to sergeant and was assigned to Northwestern Division. David currently works as a patrol sergeant in Eastern Division.

David will always stand for what he believes is right. In three words, David stands for God, Family and Freedom. David considers it a blessing to work in a profession where he gets to serve the community as a law enforcement officer.

David is happy to serve the POA membership and is thankful for their support. 

Nick Nguyen was born and raised in San Diego. He joined the San Diego Police Department in 2005 after graduating from the University of California Riverside with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering. He graduated from the 66th San Diego Regional Academy and has worked Central and Western Divisions in his time on the Department.

Nick has worked a variety of assignments, including FTO, Peer Support and SWAT, and has received awards from Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the Auto Theft Awards Committee.

Dean Thomas moved to San Diego in 1993, when he was stationed here in the U.S. Navy. While serving in the military, he completed his degree in the administration of criminal justice. Dean joined the San Diego Police Department in 1997 and was in the 38th Regional Academy. He worked patrol at Western Division, Eastern Division and Mid-City Division.

While at Mid-City Division, Dean served as a community relations officer and long-term acting sergeant until getting promoted to sergeant in 2011. He transferred to the Vice Unit in 2014 as a detective sergeant and then to Central Division Investigations in 2015. Dean is still currently assigned to Central Division and supervises the Central Night Investigations Team.

Dean also supervises the San Diego Police Honor Guard and has been a member of the team since 2001.

In 2023, Dean was elected as a director on the POA Board. His term expires in 2026. He is currently the chair of the Labor Management Committee and the Armed Services Committee. Dean also takes an active role with the Memorial and Communications Committees.

Detective Sergeant Jared Thompson joined the Department in 2007. He served in patrol at Central Division and Southeastern Division. He also gained investigative experience during his near-decade at Central Division. Jared was promoted to sergeant in 2017 and has since served in Patrol, EEO and Internal Affairs. He is currently assigned to the 290 Unit and the Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement Task Force.

Jared was elected to the SDPOA in 2023 and has served on multiple committees.

Jared’s priorities are God, his family and people. He believes we are all imperfect people much in need of grace and second chances. Jared volunteers at his church and spends much of his personal time involved with his sons in youth sports.

David Peplowski started his law enforcement career after his Marine Corps enlistment with the Seattle Police Department in 2005. From 2005 through 2012, David worked multiple patrol precincts and finished his time with Seattle P.D. on an undercover street team. David started with the San Diego Police Department in 2012 after graduating the 91st Regional Academy. He has worked Central Division patrol and the Gaslamp Enforcement Team. David worked investigative assignments as a detective at Central Division, Southern Division, Child Abuse, Robbery and the Special Investigations Unit. David was promoted to sergeant in February 2025 and assigned to Mid-City Patrol.

In 2025, David was elected to the POA Board and his term expires at the end of this year. He is currently the chair for the Retirement and Benefits Committee and assists with the Labor Management Committee.
