***SDPOA PRESS RELEASE***
Today, we remember Officer Edward Moore for his commitment and ultimate sacrifice made while serving our community.
January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month—a time to raise awareness, educate our communities, and act against modern-day slavery.

Human trafficking is a hidden crime that affects vulnerable individuals in every community—including here in San Diego.

Learn to recognize the signs of trafficking, such as someone showing signs of fear, poor physical health, or control by another individual. If you or a loved one is a victim of human trafficking, agencies from the California Victim Services Coordination Council can help with housing and relocation, finding counseling, restraining orders, and more.

Visit victims.ca.gov and report suspicious activity to local authorities or call the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888.
Today we thank the men and women who serve with courage, professionalism, and dedication--- protecting our communities, answering every call, and standing ready when it matters most. We appreciate you.
Happy New Year from the San Diego Police Officers Association! Here's to a safe, successful, and prosperous 2026 ahead!
Tonight, as we welcome 2026, prioritize safety to avoid preventable tragedies. Avoid impaired driving by using a designated driver, taking public transportation or ride share. Be aware of your surroundings if you celebrate at public events. Planning ahead can save lives and ensure everyone makes it to and from their destination safely. Thank you to all of our Officers who continue to protect our community, especially tonight. The SDPOA wishes everyone a happy and safe New Year’s Eve. Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas! SDPOA hopes everyone and their families have a safe and warm Christmas. We are especially grateful for all of our Officers who are patrolling our streets during this holiday.
This afternoon, SDPD officers from the Balboa Park Team attempted to make contact with an armed suspect in the park. The suspect shot at the officers, who returned fire.
Thankfully, the suspect is now in-custody and the officers are physically unharmed.
Every day, SDPD officers put their lives on the line to protect our community. These officers are true heroes, and we are grateful that tonight they will go home to their families—despite an evil individual attempting to take their lives.
This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
