The San Diego County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday that it completed its review of 10 recent law enforcement shootings — seven of them fatal — and that the actions of the officers and deputies involved were legally justified.
The shootings happened between 2020 and 2022 and involved 18 law enforcement officers from four local agencies: the county Sheriff’s Department, and the San Diego, Escondido and National City police departments. The shooting happened during investigations of crimes, traffic stops and so-called ‘suicide by cop’ scenarios, the District Attorney’s Office said.
